Money Paper vs. Security Paper Certificates of Origin |
|
Some states follow the rigorous AAMVA recommendations (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators). These states require residents to submit 'money paper' MSO's to the department of motor vehicles. Several states included in this group are New York, Florida, and Kansas. Other states have adopted less stringent standards and only require residents to submit 'security paper' MSO's. Several states included in this group are Georgia and Nevada. 'If you sell trailers nationally, printing all of your MSO's on money paper' will simplify your paperwork. If you sell regionally or locally, you may be able to use 'security paper' MSO's if that is all your state requires. Contact the state DMV to find out what the regulations are in your area. |
