I don't know the server name.
This is the name of the computer where the actual data is being stored.
Go to the icon on your desktop titled "My Computer" and right click to select properties, or go to the "Start Menu" and then to the Control Panel and select "System".
The System Properties window will open where you need to select the tab titled "Computer Name". Look for the "Full Computer Name" and enter the name exactly as it appears up to, but not including the first period.
Note: This is case sensitive and may include dashes or hyphens. If there is a period in the name, only enter the portion prior to the period!

I get an error message that says "my WMI license file cannot be found"
This is normal especially of early 2.1 and prior versions.
When the "license file" error message appears, select "YES" to browse. An OPEN menu will appear. At the top of this window it reads "LOOK IN", change this drop down menu so you can see the FedCert CD in your CD drive. It will be a removable drive and will probably be called "D or E DRIVE". Look for a file titled "WMIDLicense.Deco". Double click on this file and then select "Save".

I received an error message saying the software was unable to connect to the server. |
You should a have received a message during the installation process providing you with the server name (see instructions given above if you don't know the name of the server computer), enter this name as it appeared in the box provided and continue. Be sure that when the installation was performed that any anti virus and/or fire walls are temporarily disabled or turned off until the software has established a connection. If the server still failed to make a connection, be sure that both the FedCert Suite Server and the FedCert Suite were installed. If you only installed one, re-insert the software cd and install the missing portion. |
